Lower VAT rate extended until June 2021 for five Greek islands

A special lower VAT rate for islands coping with the migration crisis has been extended until June 2021 for the islands of Lesvos, Chios, Samos, Leros, and Kos, the government announced on Friday, according to ANA.

This was based on the relevant Joint Ministerial Decision (JMD) and the figures (the average number of people housed in refugee and migrant camps) for 2019-2020 when the repercussions of the migration crisis continued to apply, the migration and asylum ministry noted.
