Development Minister: The law to fight profiteering in Greece will continue in 2024

The law the government has adopted on unfair profiteering “will continue in 2024 as well, to provide the tools to control phenomena of profiteering,” clarified Development Minister Kostas Skrekas on Monday during a visit to a supermarket chain.

“Businesses reduce prices for the consumer to have access to products necessary for the holidays. The main priority of our government has been and still is to ensure that the family table will be full,” the minister said. He added that inspections for profiteering have intensified, especially for the period of Christmas. “We will impose heavy fines whenever necessary, which will be announced,” he asserted.
