Greek Minister for Social Cohesion and Family Sofia Zacharaki announced the immediate start of the program “Renovate-Rent”, which provides for the renovation of almost 12,500 currently unused properties for exclusive use as long-term rentals while speaking in Parliament on Thursday, ANA reports.
The measure has been included in a finance ministry draft bill for the exploitation of public property in coastal areas that is being put to a vote on Thursday. Zacharaki said that its passage will allow the immediate launch of the ‘Renovate-rent’ program and the issue of a relevant Joint Ministerial Decision, as well as the activation of the electronic platform for applications.
