Deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions increased by 775 million euros in June 2024, compared with a decrease of 274 million euros in the previous month, with the annual growth rate remaining almost unchanged at 2.2% compared to 2.3% in the previous month, the Bank of Greece (BoG) said in a report on Thursday, ANA reports.
In June 2024, corporate deposits increased by 3,051 million euros, compared with a rise of 577 million euros in the previous month. The annual growth rate increased to 5.0% from 3.1% in the previous month.
In particular, deposits from NFCs rose by 3,283 million euros, against a hike of 559 million euros in the previous month. Deposits placed by insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries fell by 232 million euros, versus an increase of 18 million euros in the previous month.
Deposits placed by the general government increased by 137 million euros in June, compared with an increase of 60 million euros in the previous month. The annual growth rate stood at -21.8% compared with -27.0% during the previous month.
