Unemployment drops by 6.3% in Greece during July

Registered unemployment totaled 848,602 persons in July, down 6.3% from July 2023 and up 4.4% in comparison with June 2024, Public Employment Service (DYPA) said on Tuesday, ANA reports.

The report said that 55.2% of registered unemployed (453,801) were long-term unemployed, 266,697 (31.4%) were men and 581,905 (68.6%) women.

The 30-44 age group recorded the highest number of unemployed (281,014 or 33.1%). Among the country’s regions, Attica and Central Macedonia recorded the highest numbers (304,013 and 169,015, respectively).
