Minimum wage bill in Greece is posted online for public consultation until November 21

A bill on establishing the minimum wage for 2025, 2026, and 2027 was posted for public consultation on Tuesday, ANA reports.

The draft law was submitted by the Labor and Social Insurance Ministry and titled “Incorporation of Directive (EU) 2022/2041 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 October 2022 on adequate minimum wages in the European Union – Readjustment of private sector staff wages – Regulations to establish the minimum wage for the years 2025, 2026, and 2027”.

Currently, the minimum wage is set at 830 euros, an increase of 28% compared to 2019. The prime minister has committed to a raise of the minimum wage to 950 euros by 2027. The increase of the minimum wage will be implemented with the reduction of non-wage costs for businesses, through the reduction in insurance contributions, the Labor and Social Insurance Ministry said, in a Q&A posted online.
