Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos met on Monday in Rome with his Italian counterpart Adolfo Urso, ANA reports.
The main subject of the meeting as Theodorikakos told ANA-MPA, was the coordination of the two countries in the European Councils, on issues related to development and joint action to enhance the competitiveness of European businesses.
“We had an extremely interesting and creative discussion with my counterpart, the Italian Minister Mr. Urso, on the main subject of expanding strategic cooperation between the two countries in the fields of industry, research and innovation, and private investment. With Italy, Greece has extremely important and balanced economic relations, in terms of imports and exports,” Theodorikakos said and added: “But we also share common perceptions about the present and future of Europe, about the need for European autonomy and security, about the need to strengthen the competitiveness of European businesses and close, strategic economic cooperation. In other words, everything that is described as key ideas in the Draghi Report, on which we agreed that the time has come to take concrete, practical initiatives in order to make it more specific and to give it substance, for the good and security of the European Union itself”.
