According to ELSTAT data, the turnover in accommodation in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 7.5% compared to the first quarter of 2024. The turnover amounted to 488,405 thousand euros, compared to 454,470 thousand euros in the first quarter of 2024.
In the total number of enterprises in the Catering Services sector, the turnover in the first quarter of 2025 amounted to 1,843,912 thousand euros, recording a decrease of 7.6% compared to the first quarter of 2024, when it had amounted to 1,996,044 thousand euros.
Turnover in the regions
For businesses in the Accommodation sector of the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of 2024 greater than 1.0%, the largest increase in turnover in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the first quarter of 2024 was observed in the Regional Unit of Heraklion
(40.0%) and the smallest increase (7.0%) was recorded in the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki, while the largest decrease was recorded in the Regional Unit of Chania (22.0%).
For businesses in the Catering Services sector, of the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of 2024 greater than 1.0%, the largest decrease in turnover in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the first quarter of 2024 was observed in the Regional Unit of Thira (36.1%) and the smallest decrease (1.7%) was recorded in the Regional Unit of Corinth, while the largest increase was recorded in the Regional Unit of Mykonos (35.6%).
