Heraklion Chamber Launches Microfinance Support Center

The Heraklion Chamber of Commerce announced the creation of a Microfinance Support Center, introducing one of its most significant new services for member businesses.

The Center aims to bridge the financing gap for small and very small enterprises that do not meet traditional bank criteria, offering comprehensive support for microloans up to €25,000 managed by the Hellenic Development Bank (HDB).

It will operate in a dedicated space within the Heraklion Chamber in exclusive partnership with TMED Microfinance Solutions, the first microfinance institution licensed by the Bank of Greece.

The Chamber will fully manage loan applications on behalf of its members, handling all stages of the process—including KYC verification, ESG tracking, OPSKE, and the TMED platform—based on member authorization.

The official inauguration of the Microfinance Support Center is scheduled for Monday, December 1, 2025, at the Chamber premises. An informational event will accompany the launch, presenting the new financing tools and application procedures. The session will also highlight the Heraklion Chamber’s role in supporting businesses and the strategic importance of this initiative.

Key attendees at the inauguration include:

Mr. Konstantinos Makedos, President of TMED

Ms. Marilena Bouzoura, CEO of TMFS

Professor Charalampos Ankyropoulos, Board Member, TMFS

Mr. Vasilis Dikaioulias, Board Member, TMFS

Mr. Stelios Pirpinias, Management Consultant

This initiative underscores the Chamber’s commitment to empowering local enterprises and enhancing access to finance for small businesses.
