Panhellenic Hoteliers Federation President Yannis Retsos was enthusiastically applauded by approximately 1,000 Greek hoteliers attending the Hellenic Hotels Chamber (POX) Assembly yesterday when he addressed the Economy, Development and Tourism Ministry leadership as follows:
“Ensure a smooth operating environment for our businesses and we will do what we know best, once again: Make tourism champion of the Greek economy.”
POX’s President noted that tourist demand is strong for Greece during this year’s season, too. However, he listed a number of factors that may affect Greek tourism such as immigration, the delay in negotiations with Greece’s international lenders, the recurring problems in the local banking system and the issuing of biometric visas that can be augmented by international developments.
