The US Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs Nathan Sheets has supported the IMF in its decision for a restructuring of the Greek bailout program, so that the debt becomes sustainable.
This may be achieved with the Greek government promoting additional reforms, while the country’s European creditors provide debt relief.
According to a Reuters report, Greece will not have access to the IMF’s exceptional lending facilities in the next phase of the bailout program.
