The migrant and refugee issue and EU security matters dominated the contacts between the political leadership of Portugal and EU Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos on Tuesday in Lisbon.
Commissioner Avramopoulos, the President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and Interior Minister Constança Urbano de Sousa welcomed 31 refugees from Greece under the European Commission’s relocation programme at the Lisbon Airport.
Earlier, the Commissioner participated in the presentation of the Annual European Report on Drugs of the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA), which has its headquarters in the capital of Portugal.
