A Financial Times article titled ‘Nato show of unity masks domestic divisions’, claims Greek PM Alexis Tsipras was out of sync with the common stance expressed by the rest of the other NATO members at the Warsaw Summit during the official dinner to send a strong message of determination against Moscow over the Ukrainian crisis.
The article points out that while all leaders stressed the need to adopt a unified and staunch stance against Russian President Vladimir Putin over the Ukrainian conflict in their speeches at the Presidential palace in Warsaw, Greek PM Alexis Tsipras was the exception, as he called for cooperation with Putin. According to the article, Tsipras’s speech caused the reaction of US President Barack Obama who dismissed his position at the dinner.
