The eight Turkish military officers that were on board the helicopter that landed on Saturday at Alexandroupolis airport sought political asylum in Greece.
The crew members were sent to Alexandroupolis police headquarters.
The Greek General Staff in an announcement on the landing of the Turkish helicopter Black Hawk on Saturday at 11:51 at Alexandroupolis airport we inform you that its immediate return to Turkey is being planned while the responsible authorities for asylum will examine the helicopter passengers’ request for political asylum in Greece”.
