Turkish President Erdogan advised to flee to Greece during coup night

According to Turkish daily newspaper ‘Hurriyet’, Turkish President Recep Erdogan was urged to flee to a Greek island on the night of the coup, but he refused. The report, which cites sources from another Turkish newspaper ‘Posta’, says Erdogan’s close associates pressured him to go to a Greek island for his safety, however he insisted to be taken to Constantinople.

Newspaper ‘Posta’ revealed the information citing a hotel source where Erdogan was staying during the coup.
