“The Greek government has full confidence in the data provided by the Statistics Office ELSTAT and Eurostat“, the Alternate FinMin Mr. Houliarakis said.
Addressing the Greek Parliament, he noted that June’s agreement guarantees and protects ELSTAT’s independence. He also said that the issue will be discussed during the September 9 Eurogroup in Bratislava.
In other statements, Mr. Houliarakis estimated that the Greek economy exited recession in Q2’16, moving in line with the Finance Ministry’s projection, while noting that Greece will achieve its primary surplus target this year.
