The Greek government does not guarantee that any of the four successful bidders who won the four nationwide TV licenses in a tender he will get it, if at any point of the procedure they do not meet the criteria set up by the government, State Minister Nikos Pappas told private radio station “Parapolitika” on Thursday.
“We are not in a position to guarantee anyone of the four [business groups] that he will get a license; there are other conditions too,” he said when asked about the ongoing procedure.
He said the first installment of the bidding money will be paid on Monday and that the procedure is tested every step of the way. Pappas also criticized past governments for not issuing legal TV licenses.
“Now we are in the process of considering appeals. There is a chance some of the successful bidders will not continue to the next stage. If someone is not OK, he will leave the next second. We are not fraudsters,” he added.
