Turkish Cypriots only have “one port of call” and that is Turkey, Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci has told Anadolu agency on Tuesday.
He added that it is clear the Turkish Cypriot side want an agreement that will include the security provided [by Turkey], otherwise it will not be accepted.
As long as the security system works, the Turkish Cypriot leader mentioned, and it is put in place and the sense of security exists on both sides, then a re-evaluation can occur.
“A talk has been taking place on a bizonal federation and one of those zones will be a Turkish Cypriot state, which will have its own police, something it did not have in the past,” Akinci closed his statement.
