Ankara Mayor's tweet disputes even Aegina and Crete as Greek islands

Turkish politicians continue to provoke Greece on the matter of the so-called ‘disputed’ islands in the Aegean Sea.

Towing the line of Turkish President Recep Erdogan, who raised the issue of a possible revision of the 1923 Lausanne Treaty, which had designated the islands as being under Greek control, the Mayor of Ankara, Melih Gockek tweeted a map on his account showing a series of Greek islands coloured in blue, which he claimed were ‘shamelessly given top Greece’.

Islands as close to mainland Greece as Aegina, of the whole island of Crete are in blue colour and dubbed as under dispute!
