Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon exchanged their views on the ongoing UN-led peace talks which aim to reunify the island, divided since Turkey invaded and illegally occupied its northern third in 1974, under a federal roof.
In a written statement Government Spokesperson Nikos Christodoulides said on Sunday that Ban expressed his support for the current process and his readiness to help.
Anastasiades expressed his view that all parties involved should, through very specific actions, work together to create those conditions which will allow the whole process to move forward, concluded Christodoulides’ statement.
