Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci are set to hold talks on Thursday concerning a document containing the criteria for both sides on the territory issue, reported CNA English.
Their talks are expected to begin at 11:00am (Cyprus time).
CNA English reported that the meeting was scheduled to begin at this time upon request by the Turkish Cypriot side so that its negotiating team members “can have the time to meet.”
According to CNA English, talks between Anastasiades and his negotiating team will also take place.
Anastasiades and Akinci travelled to Mont Pelerin, Switzerland to hold week-long intensive talks on the territory issue and all other outstanding issues. The Swiss-based talks are scheduled to conclude on Friday.
Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkish troops invaded and illegally occupied its northern third.
Anastasiades and Akinci have been engaged in UN-led negotiations since May 2015, with a view to reunite the island under a federal roof.
