Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades will be visiting Athens on Wednesday, November 16 to hold meeting with Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, an announcement said on Tuesday.
The President will be meeting with Tsipras at approximately 6pm at Maximos Mansion, and at 7:30pm with Pavlopoulos.
After his meetings, President Anastasiades will be meeting with the head of the New Democracy party in Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
On Thursday, the President will hold separate meetings with all the other political party leaders in Greece, including Potami, Democratic Coalition, the Greek Communist Party (KKE), ANEL, and the Centrists’ Union.
President Anastasiades will be accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Ioannis Kasoulides, and the government spokesperson Nikos Christodoulides.
The President will return to Cyprus on Thursday evening.
At negotiations in Mont Pelerin last week, President Anastasiades had requested a break in Cyprus negotiations on the territory issue to consult with the Greek leadership.
Greece is one of the guarantor powers of Cyprus, along with Turkey and the UK. As guarantors the three countries retain rights to intervene militarily on the island, as per an agreement signed in 1960 in Zurich.
