Starting this morning the Cypriot Parliament will be debating the ongoing Cyprus talks, just two days before President Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci resume talks in Mont Pelerin with a view to reaching convergences on the territorial adjustment criteria.
The debate is expected to start at 9am and a break in the plenary session is expected at 1pm.
MPs and political party leaders will continue the discussion on the Cyprus problem at 2:30pm.
President Anastasiades plans to update political party leaders at one-on-meetings today and tomorrow, ahead of his departure for Switzerland.
The President will also be meeting this morning with former President of the Republic Georgios Vassiliou, President of the Solidarity Movement Eleni Theocharous and, later in the day, the British High Commissioner.
The talks in Geneva are expected to last three days, government spokesperson Nikos Christodoulides said earlier.
In the latest round of negotiations at Mont Pelerin the two leaders, Anastasiades and Akinci, made significant progress on the territorial line and other crucial issues.
