Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his support for every type of trilateral cooperation between his country with Greece and Cyprus, speaking on Thursday after a meeting in Jerusalem with the visiting premiers of Greece and Cyprus, Alexis Tsipras and Nikos Anastasiades.
The influential Israeli leader referred to a genuine friendship among the three peoples, while citing “common interests” in the all-important energy sector.
Netanyahu also thanked Athens and Nicosia for the recent assistance conveyed to Israel to fight a spate of wildfires. Along those lines, he revealed that the three prime ministers discussed the prospects of creating a regional multinational force to deal with natural disasters, such as earthquakes, wildfires and floods.
