“It’s time to take a big step,” Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Thursday said upon his arrival at the EU summit. Referring to the Greek issue, he said: “I will have the opportunity to discuss with a lot of colleagues without threats and with respect to each country’s sovereignty rights.”
As regards the issues of the summit, he said: “We need to continue discussions in order to maintain stability in difficult and sensitive times for Europe as a whole. We need to maintain the EU-Turkey agreement but at the same time to overcome the threats. We also need to maintain solidarity and take bold decisions in order to share the burden and responsibility. At the same time, all sides must meet their obligations to overcome the difficulties and avoid obstacles, improving our position in the future.”
