President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci to hold a new meeting on Thursday at approximately 10:00 am, ahead of the Geneva conference in January 12th.
Negotiators Andreas Mavroyiannis and Ozdil Nami meanwhile, met today and shared discussions on power-sharing structure between Greek and Turkish Cypriots, on finding a solution based on European principles and the implementation of a Cyprus settlement.
The next meeting of the negotiators will be held on Wednesday.
Foreign Minister of Greece Nikos Kotzias meanwhile, has called for a meeting on Friday in Athens where he is expected to update the National Council on Foreign Policy on latest developments on the Cyprus problem.
Greek PM Tsipras and President Anastasiades, held a meeting in Brussels on the sidelines of the European summit where the two discussed a common position that could be followed at the upcoming Geneva conference on January 12.
BACKGROUND
President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci decided on December 1 to meet in Geneva on January 9 next year. On January 11 they will present their respective maps on the territorial chapter of the problem and on January 12 a Conference on Cyprus will be convened with the additional participation of the guarantor powers, UN Security Council members while other relevant parties shall be invited as needed.
