A meeting between Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan will not be held, as the Foreign Ministers of the two countries will meet in New York ahead of Geneva talks on the Cyprus issue, Sigma’s correspondent in Athens has learnt on Thursday.
At the meeting between Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, crucial issues are expected to be discussed.
The lack of a meeting between Tsipras and Erdogan, Skai news in Greece has learnt, does not mean that there was a negative development in the negotiations.
Skai has also learnt that the Greek side is working regularly and systematically on Tsipras’ presence at the conference on Cyprus on January 12.
Cavusoglu will be meeting with Kotzias in New York.
Prior to his visit to New York, Cavusoglu said that Turkey will not make any concessions on the Cyprus issue.
