Latest poll: 52% Germans want Grexit – 19% rise in one year

Over half of the Germans polled said they wanted Greece to exit the Eurozone in a survey conducted, while only 24 were favourable to Greece remaining part of the common currency union. 53% of Germans were in favour of cutting off financial support to Greece, according to the survey conducted by the Forsa Research Institute for magazine Stern.

Almost 40% of those polled said that that Germany should continue offer financial aid to Greece, while 45% were for a debt relief, as opposed to 47% who responded there should be no debt relief. The latest findings show a substantial shift in German public opinion regarding the future of Greece, as a poll published in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) in March 2016, showed that only 33% of Germans were in favour of a Grexit.
