We need extrovert and not phobic patriotism, noted Potami leader Stavros Theodorakis addressing a special parliament session on the 70th anniversary from the integration of the Dodecanese on Wednesday.
Patriotism is not only to defend your territory and your land but to solidly stand on your feet, to create national productive basis and to solve the problems. Patriotism is not the memories of a great glorious past but to take your flag and wave it to the whole world? he underlined.
He reiterated the need for a national council of foreign policy noting that ?the national safety concerns all? adding that ?the message we should sent to our neighbours should be that the Aegean is a sea of peace.
Finally, Theodorakis called on all the parties to give a common struggle in Europe for the insularity clause that will offer the opportunity to the islands to be financed directly from the European funds.
