An international seminar on “The Future of Europe” is to take place at Greece’s foreign ministry, in the Yiannis Kranidiotis amphitheatre, at 10:00 on Monday morning. The seminar is organised by the foreign ministry and held under the aegis of President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos.
The opening remarks will be made by Alternate Foreign Minister for European Affairs George Katrougalos, while participants will include distinguished academics from Greece and abroad.
The seminar will have segments on three themes relating to the new challenges facing Europe after the British referendum, European values and economic governance and democracy and European state. It will focus on current European issues with emphasis on the need to enhance the EU’s democratic legitimacy, especially in economic governance, and to propose appropriate mechanisms for enhancing the EU’s social aspects.
