Arriving for the European People’s Party (EPP) summit meeting in Brussels on Thursday, main opposition New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis underlined that Greece must remain within ‘Core Europe’.
“One thing is certain: Greece must do whatever is necessary to remain in the core of European integration,” he said.
As Europe approached its 60th anniversary it faced significant challenges, ND’s leader pointed out. Finding more jobs for young people, security, defence and the guarding of external borders had to be the focus of discussion about the future of the EU.
