Western Greece and the west Peloponnese, in particular, were areas with immense potential for reorganising their production model in the primary sector and giving new hope and prospects that would persuade people to return to their roots, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Monday, following a two-hour meeting with the Western Greece Region governor Apostolos Katsifaras, the mayors of the Ileia area and other local officials.
“During the meeting we discussed the problems and needs of the region one by one and I renewed our date for the major discussion on a new model for production organisation, the new strategy for the national plan for growth and reconstruction, which will begin a broad dialogue with organisations and local government,” Tsipras said.
“In the context of this process, I hope to find myself here again so that we can arrange the solution of long-standing major problems,” he added.
