The finance ministers for euro-zone EU member states are to meet in Luxembourg to continue talks on the sustainability of Greece΄s public debt.
They will also exchange views on the results of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Article IV consultation with the euro area, as well as discuss ways to improve the quality of public finances.
The meeting will be held at the European Convention Centre in Kirchberg, and the Eurogroup will focus on Greece΄s medium-term fiscal targets beyond 2018 and the possible debt measures that may be taken.
During a meeting in May last year, Greece and the institutions outlining short, medium and long-term debt measures for the beleaguered country reached an agreement.
Separately, IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde will present the fund΄s assessment of the euro-area΄s economic situation and the ways it plans to tackle policy challenges.
Another topic on the agenda for Thursday΄s talks is how to improve the quality and sustainability of public finances through the use of spending reviews.
The Eurogroup will look into how countries comply with the common principles for improving spending allocations.
The group meets once a month, the day before the Economic and Financial Affairs Council meeting, and its main task is to ensure the close coordination of economic policies among euro-area member states.
It also aims to promote conditions for stronger economic growth.
The current Eurogroup president is Minister for Finance of The Netherlands Jeroen Dijsselbloem.
