President Prokopis Pavopoulos and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras spoke with their Portuguese counterparts on Sunday to express their solidarity with the Portuguese people, over the deadly fires that have ravaged the ountry and killed dozens of people in recent days.
In a telephone conversation with his counterpart Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Pavlopoulos expressed his and Greece’s sympathy for the ordeal the country is going through, while Tsipras, speaking to Antonio Costa, expressed his condolences for the dozens of victims. The premier also expressed the Greek people?s support and solidarity for the difficult times facing the Portuguese people and offered any necessary assistance in tackling the blaze.
