Sources: US Congress recognizes Greece's importance for American interests

WASHINGTON (ANA/N. Lionakis) – The U.S. Congress recognizes Greece’s importance for American interests as well as its role as pillar of stability in the wider region, Greek government sources said on Wednesday noting the meeting held on Tuesday between Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Senators of the Congress’ foreign affairs committee in Washington. 

According to the same sources, the Senators present were Ron Johnson, Chris Murphy, Jeanne Shaheen and Lindsey Graham.
