“Today’s anniversary brings to our memory all the emblematic struggles of the people of Siatista (Kozani regional unit, West Macedonia). It particularly brings to mind the history of Macedonia. Repeating the words of the great Macedonian leader Constantinos Karamanlis, there is only one Macedonia and this is Greek,” Greek President Prokopios Pavlopoulos noted on Saturday during celebrations for the 105th anniversary of the liberation of Siatista.
“Those who ignore this documented truth not only violate the history but they also undermine their European course given that the EU acquis does not tolerate manifestations of irredentism and disputes over the status quo of the borders,” he concluded.
