U.S. Embassy expresses condolences to families of flash flood victims

The U.S. Embassy in Athens expressed its deepest sorrow and condolences to the families of the victims of the flash floods that hit western Attica on Wednesday.

“We express our deepest sorrow and offer our condolences to the families of flood victims in the towns of Mandra, Nea Peramos and Megara,” the embassy tweeted.

It should be noted that extreme weather weather phenomena are a relatively rare winter occurrence in Greece, which is famous in the whole world for its great climate all year round.
