Counter-flooding project at Greek-Bulgarian river borders to kick off

ANA-MPA reports that Greece and Bulgaria held their first meeting on Tuesday on the EU-funded program for the prevention of flooding at the river basins of Strymonas (including the artificial Lake Kerkini), Evros and Ardas, in the northern Greek city of Serres and the region named after it.

The upgrade of current infrastructure as well as the construction of new one belong to the Interreg Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020 program, with a total budget of 11.5 million euros.
