Tusk: Europe will find compromise on mandatory relocation quotas

European Council President Donald Tusk stated on Friday he hoped the European Union would reach an agreement on the thorny issues of mandatory quotas for the relocation of refugees, during a press conference at the end of a two-day European Council summit, ANA reported from Brussels.

“It is difficult to reach a compromise, but we have to try hard,” he stressed, noting that the EU will record its progress in March so that decisions can be made next June.

Asked about the reaction to his note prepared ahead of the summit to scrap mandatory relocation quotas, he argued the reaction showed the issue is important but cannot solve the problem.
