‘Anonymous Greece’ claims responsibility for hacking Turkish president Erdogan’s website

Greekcitytimes.com reports that the cyber hacking group ‘Anonymous Greece’ has claimed responsibility for taking over the official website of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and bringing it down for over 12 hours.

Taking to their social media pages, the group on their Facebook page revealled they also hacked other offical Turkish websites and uploaded digitally altered images of President Erdogan, with make-up and jewellery on and also displayed him as a vampire.

Media reports claim this was in retaliation against a group of Turkish hackers, who have previously hacked Greek websites.

OP Anonymous Greece says tensions between the Turkish and Greek cyber hackers has been escalating for a while and mention the “constant Turkish violations of air and sea.”

The group also argues the hacking of the Greek Prime Minister’s page last year by Turkish groups has created a “cyber war”.
