European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos on Wednesday welcomed a decision by German authorities to suspend systematic border controls at German airports for passengers arriving from Greece, ANA reports.
“I want to congratulate German and Greek police authorities, since this was achieved thanks to the close cooperation between them,” Avramopoulos said and added: “I will have the opportunity tomorrow to discuss the next steps with the Interior Minister of Germany Mr. [Horst] Seehofer in Berlin.”
