New defense cooperation deals signed between Greece, Cyprus and Egypt

New defense co-operation agreements on issues such as cybersecurity, information exchange, crisis management and the enhancement of joint exercises with a background in the Eastern Mediterranean, were decided at the trilateral meeting of the Greek, Cypriot and Egyptian Defense Ministers in Athens, int.ert.gr reports.

The three ministers (Nikos Panagiotopoulos, Savvas Angelides and Mohamed Ahmed Zaki, respectively) jointly condemned Turkey’s illegal actions in Cyprus and the Aegean Sea.

They also agreed that there should be cooperation on immigration, which is a major issue for all countries and especially in the Mediterranean Sea and has to be dealt seriously, as hostilities create humanitarian crises, like the one in Syria.
