Israeli PM departs earlier from Athens due to events in Baghdad

A meeting between President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopios Pavlopoulos and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday was cancelled after Netanyahu departed from Athens early to return to Israel, cutting short his visit to Greece due to events in Baghdad, the Greek presidency announced, according to ANA.

Earlier today, Iran’s most powerful military commander, Gen Qasem Soleimani, had been killed by a US airstrike in Iraq.
