Foreign Ministry: Greece needs to preserve its image as a safe country

Alternate Foreign Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis on Thursday underlined the need for Greece to preserve its image of being a safe country, while speaking to MEGA TV, according to ANA.

Referring to the EU-Western Balkans video conference on Wednesday, he reported a standstill for the time being as there was no convergence between the south and north. A legal way has yet to be found for the disbursement of European support, in which form and from where it will be paid, nor for matters concerning the air transport (health protocols and passenger compensation).

What is certain, he said, is that foreigners from third countries will not be allowed to enter Greece until June 15, as the European Commission will extend the closing of borders for these countries.
