Greece will focus on the protection of human life and public health during the Covid-19 pandemic, while fully supporting human rights and the principles of democracy and a state of law, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Friday, summarizing the focus of the country’s presidency of the Council of Ministers at the Council of Europe, ANA reports.
The Greek presidency will exercise its duties digitally and will utilize the Internet to publicize its actions to European citizens, something that “will bring the Council of Europe even closer to the citizens, especially young people,” as the Greek premier explained. In particular, Greece will highlight during its presidency the anniversary of the European Convention of Human Rights, which was signed in Rome on November 4, 1950.
