Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis discussed Turkey’s provocative decision to turn the World Heritage-listed monument of Hagia Sophia to a mosque with European Council President Charles Michel, on the telephone on Monday, ahead of the July 17-18 EU Summit.
Furthermore, President Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Monday spoke with Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomaios, to whom she expressed her will to contribute to the mobilization of the international community so that Hagia Sophia remains an ecumenical monument of culture and religious dialogue and conveyed her support and the solidarity of all Greeks.
