Greece’s position on the Aegean continental shelf is identical to that of the United States and the European Union, US Ambassador to Athens Geoffrey Pyatt reiterated, speaking at an online conference at the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, int.ert.gr reports.
“We have spoken very clearly about the destabilizing nature of some of the actions that Turkey has taken”, Pyatt said, stressing that the United States continues to use its diplomatic tools in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The American ambassador pointed out that the relations between Greece and the USA are at their best, while he underlined that the USA has invested so much in the relations between Greece, Cyprus and Israel, “which is a manifestation of Washington’s attempt to see the Eastern Mediterranean more systematically as a unified strategic part”.
