The year 2020 was one in which all societies and economies were tested by the worst health crisis and global recession since the end of World War II, Greek government spokesperson Stelios Petsas noted in the post-Christmas online press briefing on Monday, according to ANA.
“Our lives changed and our country suffered the repercussions of the pandemic but, both during the first wave and during the second, with have done comparatively better than many other countries,” he said.
Apart from certain areas in northern Greece, Petsas pointed out, the rest of the country still had rates of infection that were lower than the greater part of Europe, based on figures released by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
