President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou visited Sotiria hospital, one of the referral hospitals in the fight against Covid-19, on New Year’s Eve, where she met with healthcare staff and noted that the year 2020 and a part of 2021 “belong to these people, the medical and nursing staff that have offered so much, who have helped so much in facing the ordeal that the country and the people are going through,” ANA reports.
This was the reason, she added, why she had chosen to visit the hospital on this day, “even on the terms imposed by the pandemic”.
