Greek political party leaders expressed their New Year’s wishes for health and prosperity, and cast a reflective eye on the past year and the repercussions of the pandemic, in messages issued December 31-January 1, ANA reports.
SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras blasted the government for its management of the coronavirus pandemic this past year in his New Year’s message on Thursday.
Movement for Change (KINAL) leader Fofi Gennimata expressed the hope on Thursday, New Year’s Eve, that 2021 “is the year we will reclaim our lives.”
Communist Party of Greece (KKE) General Secretary Dimitris Koutsoumbas on Thursday sent a New Year message highlighting the need to keep up the struggle for a better future to the members, voters and friends of KKE.
The completion of 2020 “leaves behind open wounds, destroyed dreams, and fear,” MeRA25 leader Yanis Varoufakis said in his New Year’s message on Thursday, but the coronavirus pandemic “opened our eyes to powers and options we had forgotten we had.”
